This technology describes the use of lipid nanoparticles combined with divalent cations and a charged analyte. Following mixing the size and surface charge of the nanoparticles may be analyzed by existing technology. Changes in the size and surface charge of these nanoparticles in the presence of the charged anaylte may be used to determine analyte size/molecular weight, analyte concentration, or analyte contamination.

The Hyrax process breaks down cellulosic biomass into fermentable sugars and lignin. The technology is centered on the efficient use and recycling of ionic liquids. The process is feedstock-flexible, achieving the conversion of forestry biomass, agricultural wastes or energy crops with no need for pre-treatment, enzymes or harsh conditions. The result is a simple and low-cost process that addresses the key need of the renewable chemicals industry.

D-Kimia licensed three patents that collectively describe a gold nanoparticle-based colorimetric assay kit for nucleic acids from viral, bacterial and other microorganisms that detects unamplified or amplified polynucleotides in clinical specimens using unmodified AuNPs and oligotargeter polynucleotides that bind to a pathogen's nucleic acids. One patent describes a similar method that uses positively charged gold nanoparticles (AuNPs).
